Hi. My name is Lauren Piper and I am addicted to anchor charts. I love making them. I love teaching with them. I love hanging them in my classroom. I just love me some anchor charts. In fact, when we are learning a certain skill and I don’t have an anchor chart, my kiddos always ask for one! So I am dedicating a whole post to share the charts I have made the past two years.
First of all, I have a place in my classroom called the “Wall of Wisdom.” This is a whole wall where I hang the anchor charts we are using at the time. I am also a nut about lamination, so I laminate all of my charts for future use! I punch holes in them and use binder rings to hang them on cheap curtain rods, which I hot glued to the wall. The rods are only $2.97 from Wal-Mart 🙂 I hang all of the math charts on one set of rings, and the reading charts on another set. This makes for easy switching because I can just flip to the chart we need!

I like to leave open space on some charts (like the singular and plural one) so we can add to them with sticky notes or write on them with dry erase markers.

Now for the BEST part of this post. Wouldn’t it be great for your students to have all of these anchor charts with them at their desk??? I have seen my students use and benefit from these charts, so I decided to make Second Grade Common Core Math Anchor Chart Rings.
The students each get their own ring of anchor charts to keep at their desk for EVERY second grade common core math standard. They are small, so they can be kept in their desk or hung on a hook.
